FAQ’s

How long  will it take me to get good?

That really can have a lot to do with the skill level that you consider good, and the work you’re willing to put in. More advanced musicianship can take longer to achieve, no doubt. But this process would be part of your evaluation of finding your goals so we can get you to them.

What can I expect to learn?

Pat’s Lessons is about providing a course of study to help produce well rounded musicianship. Playing technique, reading music, and application to the drum set (or percussion instrument) are the primary points of study we provide.

Although simplified to a few catagories of study, these are the core elements that make up most all percussive arts studies.

But I don’t want to read music! Can I still learn?

Of course you can still learn how to play the drums without learning how to read music. And after thousands upon thousands of lessons taught by Pat, he’s found consistantly, the students that take the time to develop these skills go further. Also with having a better understanding of what they’re doing they go further.

Can I learn to play what I want to play?

That is the goal, all the time. What methods we use to get you there can vary based on who you are and how you learn.

Learning how to play what you want to learn how to play, or need to learn how to play, is what Pat’s Lessons is all about.
